Every person in the English-speaking world, and beyond, has heard about the Avengers franchise. The hype around it is much like that series. You know, the one about dragons and some throne that everyone is fighting for. But, if you fall into the small percentage of the population that has either a) never seen or heard of an Avengers film or b) watched a few films but have never really understood what they’re about, the good news is that we’re giving you a rundown of the films you need to watch (and the order) so that you can put the puzzle pieces in your mind back together.
Meet Tony Stark in Iron Man (2008)
The first release of the Marvel franchise took place in May 2008, with Marvel introducing fans to the strikingly handsome and extremely sarcastic Tony Stark. Each new release following this offered fans a glimpse into the unique back-story of a new Marvel character. Here, they got to learn exactly who billionaire inventor Tony Stark is, and gain an understanding of the stages that lead him to becoming the armoured flying suit wearing Iron Man.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
He’s big, he’s bulky, and he’s green. He’s the Incredible Hulk, and trust me, you do not want to get on his bad side. The movie follows a Scientist, Dr Bruce Banner, who is in search for a cure for his unique condition that turns him into a green monster (with some major anger issues). The film was released in 2018, and scored a mere 67% on famous review site, Rotten Tomatoes. That being said, it is still a good ol’ favourite amongst Marvel fans.

The blockbuster grossed 449.3 million US dollars, and thanks to Chris Hemsworth’s great looks and even better acting skills, had both critics and fans singing its praises.
Captain America (2011)
