Instagram, the social network completely devoted to photo and video sharing, is looking to break into the online shopping industry with its new in-app shopping. From its beginnings in 2010, Instagram has never ceased to innovate. Much of what the network has done has changed both social interactions and modern advertising. Instagram has specifically led to the creation of “influencers”. These users receive free products and/or are paid by big brands to promote their products through their posts. The idea is that consumers are more likely to trust advertising if it comes from a friend-figure than through traditional channels.

The 91st Academy Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 24, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The Oscars, so named for the nickname of the statuette award, are given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Immigration has been a contentious issue ever since Donald Trump first set out on the campaign trail in a bid for the United States presidency. He promised to build a wall between the US and Mexico, constantly reminds Americans that illegal immigrants are allegedly stealing their jobs, and has increased enforcement of anti-immigration laws along the country’s southern border.
Initially, Trump insisted that Mexico would pay for the wall. More recently, his demand for funding to the tune of $5.6 billion to build the wall was a major reason for the US government shutdown that began on 22 December 2018 and, at the time of writing, continues. Anyone who has undertaken a lengthily project such as writing a book will know that it is a task of infinite dedication. It can take over a year to complete a book, requiring that the writer return to the project again and again, facing potentially numerous unexpected setbacks. But once the task is complete, the resulting finished book is an achievement that can be celebrated for the remainder of the writer’s years.
