Tens and face cards are worth 0 in the game of baccarat, aces are worth 1, and only the last digit of the total matters. A hand comprising a 4 and a king counts as 4. A hand comprising a 4 and an 8, adding up to 12, counts as 2. And so forth.
If the hand that you bet on wins with the higher point value, you win your bet and a payout. If you bet on one of the hands and the hands tie, your bet is returned to you and you don't lose anything.
You may also bet on a Tie in baccarat. If you make the Tie bet and the two baccarat hands end up with the same value, congratulations! You have just won a spiffy 8-to-1 payout on your bet.
