When you play multi-hand pontoon online, you will notice five betting areas labeled "Click to Place Bets" on the virtual pontoon table. Every time you place a bet in one of the betting areas, you are activating another hand in your multi-hand pontoon game. You may bet the same amount on each hand if you want to, but you are also free to mix it up with high bets, low bets, and medium bets in the same game of online multi-hand pontoon.
After you have placed your bets, you click the Deal button. Two face-up cards will be dealt to each of your multiple hands, and two face-down cards to the dealer.
You then play each of your hands independently, just as you would do in a regular game of online pontoon. You may twist or stick, or split or buy. Each hand is independent of the others, so you make whatever pontoon strategy decisions you want on each of your pontoon hands.
As in a single-hand game of online pontoon, the dealer plays last. So after you have finished playing all of your hands, the dealer plays his hand in the normal fashion. As in all pontoon games, the dealer must twist on all hands up to 16, and must stick on all hands of 17 or above.
Each of your hands in a multi-hand pontoon game is playing against the dealer, not against each other. That means it's possible for all five of your hands to beat the dealer, or for all five to lose to the dealer. What happens the majority of the time, however, is that you will win on some of your hands and lose on some. The ultimate goal when you play multi-hand pontoon is not to win every single hand, but simply to come out ahead overall in the long run.
As in regular single-hand pontoon, a Pontoon hand pays out 2-to-1, and a 5-Card Trick also pays 2-to-1. Those are the big payouts that help you to come out ahead when you play multi-hand pontoon for real money.
