Poker Pursuit Rules & Terms |
What is Poker Pursuit?Poker Pursuit is a 5-card online poker game. You start with three cards, and you have an option to increase your bet before receiving your fourth and fifth cards. The object of this poker variation is to try to keep your losses small while making your winnings big.
Rules of How to Play Poker PursuitA game of Poker Pursuit is played in three stages. At each stage, you have a little more information about your poker hand, and you have an opportunity to raise your bet or to keep it at the previous level. You start Stage 1 of your online Poker Pursuit game by selecting your coin size. Your coin size is the amount of your initial bet. When you are ready, click the Deal button and you receive your first three cards. In Stage 2, after examining your three cards, you click either the Call or the Raise button. Call will leave your bet at the same level; Raise will add one coin to your bet. After clicking Call or Raise, you receive your fourth card. Stage 3 is like a repeat of Stage 2. After examining your four cards, you again must click either the Call or the Raise button. As in the previous stage, Call will leave your bet at the same level; Raise will add one coin to your bet. After clicking Call or Raise, you receive your fifth and final card. How to Win at Poker PursuitOnline Poker Pursuit is not played against other poker players or against the dealer. It is a solitary poker game. Winning at Poker Pursuit depends solely on the objective value of your poker hand.
Poker Pursuit StrategyEvery time you raise your bet in Poker Pursuit, you are increasing the amount of money you can win if you are successful, but also increasing the amount you stand to lose if you are not successful. The key element of Poker Pursuit strategy, therefore, is knowing when to raise in a way that will maximize your winnings, and knowing when to call in a way that will minimize your losses. If you already have a winning hand — a pair of 10's or better — you should definitely raise. You already know you are going to win, the only question is how much. So there is only gain and no risk in adding more coins for a bigger payout. More difficult decisions come into play when you don't have a winning poker hand, but think you have a chance to get one. In this case, you need to balance the odds of getting the card you need to win against the potential payout if you succeed. For example, if you have a bunch of low cards and a single 10, it is not worth raising in the hope of obtaining a pair of 10's. On the other hand, if you have four cards of the same suit, the 8-to-1 payout for a flush make it worth your while to raise in the hope of drawing a fifth card of that suit. You won't win every time, or even the majority of the time, but in the long run you have a good probability of coming out ahead. Enjoy Playing Online Poker PursuitOnline Poker Pursuit is a game with high payouts that keeps you on your toes and thinking all the time. That is what makes it a challenging and exciting online poker variation. So use your head, enjoy your poker game, and good luck playing Poker Pursuit.Definitions & Terms for Poker PursuitRoyal Flush
