Multi-Hand Blackjack Rules & Terms |
"Multi-Hand Blackjack" is not a casino card game. Rather, Multi-Hand Blackjack is a whole class of casino card games. What they have in common is that they all allow you to play several hands of online blackjack at the same time.

As with single-hand online blackjack, each multi-hand online blackjack game has different features that may or may not appeal to you. Each multi-hand blackjack game has its advantages and disadvantages — there is no particular multi-hand blackjack game that could be called the "best" multi-hand blackjack game for everybody.
It is a good idea to check out all the different multi-hand blackjack variations and see what you like. You can play the games for free in Practice mode to get a feel for them before you make your decision. You might find that you enjoy playing different multi-player blackjack games on different days, or when you are in different moods. You have a wide variety to choose from, and it is almost certain that you will find at least one multi-player blackjack game that is right for you.
On the multi-hand blackjack table, you will see five betting circles. Before you even start to play, you have two decisions to make: how many hands to bet on, and how much to bet.
Each betting circle corresponds to one hand of blackjack. If you place a bet in one betting circle, you will be dealt one hand of blackjack. Two bets means two hands of blackjack. And so on, up to the maximum of five bets on five hands of blackjack.
How much to bet on each hand is up to you, but remember that each hand is independent, so you do not have to bet the same amount on each hand. If you want to, you can mix high bets, low bets, and moderate bets on different hands in the same round of multi-hand blackjack. It's another way to make the game more interesting.
Because multi-hand blackjack comprises a class of blackjack games, it is impossible to speak of "the" rules of multi-hand blackjack. Just as there is variation in the rules of different single-hand blackjack games, there is variation in the rules of multi-hand blackjack games. The rules of Multi-Hand Classic Blackjack mirror the Classic Blackjack rules, and the rules of Multi-Hand Pontoon Blackjack follow the Pontoon Blackjack rules. Most, but not all, multi-hand blackjack games follow, more or less, the standard traditional blackjack rules. Other multi-hand blackjack variations have more unusual or untraditional rules. So the important thing is to learn and understand the rules of the particular multi-hand blackjack game that you have chosen to play.
There are many advantages to playing multi-hand blackjack in an online casino. One of the most important is that you are in sole control of the pace of the game. Nobody is going to pressure you to play faster than you want to. The net result is that, in the online casino, you have the luxury of being able to think about what you are doing and to concentrate on your multi-hand blackjack strategy. You can actually give each of your several hands the same level of attention that you would if you were playing only a single hand of blackjack. This cannot do anything but help your game. |

These are the terms that are used when playing multi-hand blackjack and their definitions:
"21": This is when the value of the cards dealt equal 21, but is not a Blackjack. For example, a 9 of spades, a 4 of diamonds and an 8 of clubs equals 21. (Blackjack always beats 21.)
Blackjack: This is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of 10. It is the strongest hand, and automatically stands. It cannot be beaten, only matched.
Bust: If your hand value exceeds 21, your hand is bust. The hand is over and you lose your bet.
Denomination: The name of a particular card. A Jack has a value of 10, but it's denomination is Jack.
Double Down: When you double down, you double the amount of your bet, receive one (and only one) more card, and stand.
Hit: This is when you request another card from the dealer.
Insurance: This is a side bet against the possibility of the Dealer getting Blackjack. You can take Insurance if you do not have Blackjack, and the Dealer's first card is an Ace. Insurance costs half your original bet.
Push: This is when your hand and the Dealer's hand tie. You are paid your original bet.
Split: You can split two cards with the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours. Your hand is divided into two separate hands, and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on each of the two hands. You have effectively doubled your bet. A new card is dealt to each hand and you play these hands as normal. In some multi-hand blackjack variations, you can split cards of different denominations but the same value, such as a Queen and a King.
Stand: This is when you decline to take any more cards. This ends the play of your hand. The Dealer plays his hand and both hands are compared.
Value: Value refers to the numerical value of a card. Jack, Queen and King have the value of 10. The Ace card has a value of either 1 or 11.
