Black Jack is the Stuff Memories are made of. But Black Jack is also a Thoroughly Modern Game
Black Jack of YoreWhen we were all in the army- my cousins, my brother and I - we would gather a couple of times a year and play black jack. My father taught us (later he would teach me poker, too) and because we ranged in age from 21 to 25, we bet with pennies. He taught us a "slightly" different version of black jack than the real game played in casinos; it was a black jack suited to little hands and little bets.
Black Jack in the 21st CenturyLAter, when went to a casino, I was in for a rude awakening at the black jack table. I discovered that dealers are not forgiving and generous. I discovered that there are no penny antes. I discovered that black jack is a serious, strategy-laden game for adults. The black jack of my memories was a laugh-filled family activity; real black jack was a little scary, to tell the truth, and I never went back for more. But then I discovered online black jack - a kinder, gentler version of casino black jack - and my youthful enthusiasm was rekindled. Playing online black jack is fun and amusing, almost, though not exactly, like the black jack of yesteryear.
